Convert from Watts to Amps
Updated: May 11, 2021
1) What is the current in amps when the power consumption is 100 watts and the voltage supply is 12 volts?
A = W / V
I = 100W / 12V = 8.33A or
8.33A * 12V= 100W
2) What is the current in amps when the power consumption is 100 watts, the power factor is 80%, and the voltage supply is 12 volts?
A = W / (PF× V)
I= 100W / (0.8 ×12V) = 10.41A or
10.41A * 12V= 125W
